BILL NICHOLSON
Forced to leave his beloved Spurs for the ranks of the Durham Light Infantry at the outbreak of the Second World War, Bill later returned to White Hart Lane to see out his career. He became the club’s manager in 1958, guiding them to a plethora of domestic and European honours, including the first ever league and cup double in 1961.
